Pregnancy Update: Week 39!!
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We celebrated Christmas with family and friends and it was wonderful! Little Henry had a blast opening his presents. Little Evangeline focused on one gift and wasn’t interested in any of the others! She’s so funny! Hubby Henry and I made delicious grub such as a Cosi-inspired Signature Salad, oven-roasted pork, potato salad, and my all-time favorite come y bebe which is a fruit cocktail that everyone seems to love as well!
During all of the festivities, I wondered if baby Adele Celeste would be early like her big sister or not. I wondered this because as of week 36 I started feeling lots of pelvic pressure which would make me waddle. The same thing happened with Evangeline and you all know she came early. So I thought maybe, just maybe. Except she didn’t come early. She’s actually full-term now. And although I feel like she can be here any day now, she’s not. And the pain is getting stronger and stronger!
Let me break it down for you.
SLEEP
What is sleep? I honestly don’t know. I fall asleep around 2-4 am and then wake up again around 7, go back to sleep if possible, around 8 or 9, then wake up again around 10 or 11. I am exhausted, but it’s so hard to stay asleep. Not only do I wake up to pee throughout the night, but I wake up constantly because EVERYTHING HURTS! My hips, my pelvis, my back, did I mention my hips? I mostly sleep on my left side, but my doctor said I could sleep however I want as long as I am comfortable (people say you shouldn’t sleep on your right side or back because it lowers the baby’s oxygen levels, but my doctor said the difference in oxygen levels is really minimal). Right now I have to sit up and THEN lay back down on a different side because if I turn while laying down the pain is excruciating. My whole belly hurts when I do that.

Week 36
SITTING
I have to sit for really short periods of time. And when I want to stand up I have to do it really slowly. It’s like I have a weighted ball in my lower abdomen and it’s hanging off of my skin. Needless to say, it hurts like a mug!
WALKING
I mentioned already that I’m waddling right now right? Okay, so I waddle when I walk. Walking hurts.

Week 37 and a little visitor
What does all this mean?
So walking hurts. Sitting hurts. Standing up hurts. Sleeping hurts. Basically, any form of movement hurts! Oh and on top of that I’ve got a pinching pain in my lower back – left side. I’ve got pinching pain under my left breast like when I used to go to my chiropractor with similar pain and she would tell me that a rib or two had moved out of place. I’m not kidding. It happened several times and I can identify the pain. It’s the same. And I have extreme pain in my right inner thigh joint area. It hurts so bad so that I can barely muster the strength to lift that leg onto my bed to fall asleep. I don’t remember this type of pain with my other two pregnancies. I seriously think it’s more than just joint pain, but my doc said it’s normal.
Other than all that, I’m great!
In all seriousness, this is the last one. I am officially done having babies, people. My doc told me it gets worse with each pregnancy and I believe him. Between the constant nausea, the itchiness on my arms and back, the pain, and the exhaustion, I am done!
So baby Adele I am welcoming you with open arms, but you’re the last one, mmkay?

Week 39
Will She Be A New Year’s Baby?!?
So now we’re just playing the waiting game and the wondering game… will she be a New Year’s Baby or not???!!!
We’ll know soon enough 🙂
Bye everyone and have a happy New Year from our family to yours!
