Guess who turned 1!!!!???!??! That’s right! My little angel, Evangeline! We planned a wonderful day at Sesame Place in Pennsylvania and it was double the fun since it was also Mother’s Day! The weather here in Connecticut was dreary that day, but not in PA. It was a nice, sunny day, perfect for all the festivities. This was the first time any of us had ever ben to Sesame Place, and I must say, it was well worth it! Everything was wonderful. Little Henry loved all the rides, Evangeline still didn’t understand what was going on, but she was such a great trooper!
Getting Our Faces Painted!
When we got our faces painted, little Henry didn’t want to at first but Evangeline didn’t even flinch. She and I got the same design. Later on in the day, little Henry got his face painted too. He picked a “two-faced” type monster, ha! I wanted Daddy to get the same thing, but he said NO!

Daddy and little Henry about to go down the roller coaster!
The Roller Coaster!
Little Henry and Daddy went on sooooo many rides! They must’ve done the roller coaster about 10 times! It was so funny and cute! He would get super excited before getting on, and then once it started moving, he would hug his daddy so tightly! I went on twice with him. My parents also went on the roller coaster. It was such a fun ride!
Special Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet!
What made the day super special, though, was the Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet. You had to reserve and pay ahead of time for this. When I tried to buy tickets the night before, they were all sold out! No! However, I was able to get cupcakes and party supplies for the kids. So that day, I asked where do I pick up the cupcakes and supplies. After going to a few wrong places, they told me to go to the dining hall. There were two Mother’s Day brunches that day. One at 11:30 and one at 1:30. We arrived at the dining hall around 12:30. I could see Sesame Street characters dancing with children and the buffet looked so good! I asked one of the staff if there was any way we could get squeezed into the afternoon brunch buffet. At first, she said no, they were full. After they gave us our cupcakes and supplies, I asked again, and she said, “Hold on. There might be an opening.” You know, I prayed super hard! And it worked! She found a spot for us. She took us immediately to Guest Relations and we paid for our entries. And I’m so glad that we did because it was literally, the best part of the day! For an hour and a half, we were surrounded by Sesame characters: Elmo, Grover, Big Bird, Abby Caddaby.
Then they brought out cakes and cupcakes (there were two birthdays that afternoon) and everyone sang “Happy Birthday!” to the children. It was wonderful.
After the brunch ended, around 3, we went to the games again.

With his face painted!

Another roller coaster ride!

On the carousel with the birthday girl waving!
Shortly after 3:15 it started drizzling, then it started pouring! We ran to the car as fast as we could! Our birthday bash for Evangeline was over 🙁
For her actual birthday, May 16th, we bought a little birthday cake for her and she played outside with her big brother’s car. We celebrated my birthday two days later. Like the year before, she was my present 🙂

I used to love sesame street growing up! That looks like a fun birthday party
Yes! It was! Thank you James for visiting!
So sweet. My son is all about Elmo. He would go bonkers for the chance to meet the crew. I can tell her birthday was very special.
Oh it definitely was! She’s such a sweet little girl and she deserved a fun day 🙂
You have such beautiful children! And I love how the pictures are incorporated. May birthday’s are the best.. but of course I am biased.
May baby here too, totally biased!
What a great theme, we will be planning Brody’s soon and loved this post.
While we’ve always wanted to visit, our kids never were too interested. You guys look like you absolutely enjoyed though so perhaps I’ll give it some extra thought!
You should def visit!! You will not regret it!!
