Happy New Year everyone! I hope you guys had a wonderful 2016 and I wish you the best for 2017! I know that for myself and my family, we are looking forward to the best year ever! I have so many ideas lined and so many things I want to do. For this year, I would love to start several memberships for my children: YMCA, some sort of baby gym, and library programs as well, so that they can continue their social skills outside of the home. My goal is to wait until the weather is better so I can start taking my kids out of the home and preferably do this on a daily basis.

At the airport, on our way! This time I remembered the baby carrier!
I’ve signed up with so many Connecticut newsletters so that I am informed whenever anything special comes to town, or a family event we can attend. My favorite newsletters are MommyPoppins and Connecticut Kids & Family! If you have a moment you should definitely check them out.
Okay, so what have we been up to? We’ve been vacationing in the new year! Yes! As I mentioned in a few of my previous posts, we had a December-January trip to Ecuador planned since mid-2016. For this trip, we decided on spending Christmas here in Connecticut with my family, and then New Year’s in Ecuador with Henry’s family.
It was a fun trip and a great respite from the cold weather! The children seemed to enjoy the trip except that since we’ve been back, Evangeline has begun to wake up every 3-4 hours or so. It started the last week we were in Ecuador so I’m thinking it might be the change of environment? Hopefully, she will go back to being the little angel that slept through the night from very early on.
On a side note: I am STILL breastfeeding!! Yes! This, to me, is a huge accomplishment!! They were so many times where I didn’t think I would make it another week, but here I am. I only breastfed Henry the early weeks after his birth, then I moved to exclusive pumping. I did that for 8 months when I had to supplement since no more milk was coming out of meh!
For Evangeline I haven’t pumped since about her 2nd or 3rd month of life and I’m so happy!! I prefer giving her the breast as opposed to using a machine. With my son, I used to get blisters ALL THE TIME from pumping friction. It was the worst pain ever! Breastfeeding Evangeline hasn’t been a walk in the park, especially now that she has teeth and tends to bite me now and again, but I’ll tell yah, I love it so much more than have to prepare a bottle! We can be anywhere, anywhere, and all I have to do is pull out my breast and feed her. Bam! Done! So thank you body for putting up with this for this long!! My goal is to make it until she is one year old! So here’s hoping all goes well!
Alright, so are you guys ready to see some pictures?? I love taking pictures of my family and especially of my little ones having fun. After this trip we had to bid farewell to Henry’s family and aren’t sure when we will be back to Ecuador. He wants to go in July for his little sister’s high school graduation, but I really don’t think that’s a viable option right now. If we don’t go in July, he wants to go in December. So, we’re up in the air right now on when we will be back. What I do know is that I will be taking a ton of pictures when we do finally go back! And I’ll be sharing them with you 🙂
